Here are some simple tips to keep your solid surface countertops looking new and prolong the life of them:
Clean the surface with a mild soap, warm water, and a soft, clean cloth. Wipe dry after.
Clean up any spills immediately as certain fluids may stain the surface.
Bleach may be used if it is diluted to a formula of 1 part bleach to 100 parts water. That would mean 5 tbsp. of bleach per 1 gallon of water.)
Scothbrite pads may be used in a solid surface sink to remove residue. Rub the scotchbrite over the entire sink. DO NOT rub the scotchbrite on the surface of the countertop as this will dull the surface.
Use trivets or hot pads under all pans and bakeware.
Use placemats under dishes in common eating areas.
In most cases, solid surface can be repaired if the damage is not too severe.
